Hello, I just went to my local dealer yesterday with a functioning u connect 5.0 system and they attempted to do the new update and now I have NO radio at all. They tried a few times and it kept failing. In Canada you can not access the software update on the u connect web site yourself. If some one could find a way to post a different link to the update that would be awesome, because the dealer has to order me a new radio and they think it may take a few weeks to come in.

I would be willing to try and put in the update again, who knows mabey I would get lucky. All I know is no radio really sucks!!!! I ended up updating mine twice to try and get the compass to work just in case it had a hiccup the first time. Unfortunately it still says 'No Signal'. Not too big a deal as I just pay attention to the one in the EVIC anyway, but would be nice if everything worked like it should. Never had an issue with the install, all I can say is make sure you print out the instructions and follow them. Everything is pretty straight forward except for the end, I am wondering if this is where the dealer messed up for some of you?

Anyway I hope they come out with another update to address the bugs. Shouldn't put it out if it hasn't been tested which by how many of you are saying they have issues, it never was.

In this video, I will show you how to update your 2013 Uconnect 8.4A (and 8.4AN) radio to the latest software version (13.15.4). To determine if your vehicle requires an upgrade, please go to the following site: You will be required to input the last 8 digits of your vehicle's VIN number. If your vehicle requires an update, it will allow you to download the required file. Once your download is complete, RUN the file, and select a blank USB stick as the destination folder. The software you downloaded, will then decompress an ISO file (SWDL.ISO) into the USB stick.

Once the ISO file has been completely decompressed, you are now ready to proceed with the upgrade. The entire update process should take about 10-15 mins. This video has been condensed to shorten the total upgrade time. Please be patient during the upgrade for the 'pop up' messages to appear on your screen.

DO NOT at any point in time during the upgrade procedure, remove the keys from the ignition, start the vehicle up, or remove the USB. Please wait until the upgrade has been fully complete. Failure to do so, will result in a visit to your dealer for a reset of your Uconnect software.
