Hello, I am new to this forum and I am seeking some info. I recently acquired my cousin's Skyway TA that's been sitting in my uncle's basement for the last 20 odd years.

I have cleaned it up some and found the serial number stamped on the bottom which starts with the letter 'K'. Font Fangsong Gb2312 here. After doing some research on the net I noticed people stating the date with the serial number. This bike doesn't have a date stamped. After doing more googling, I found a post mentioning that this frame was manufactured in Japan.

I called Skyway in Cali and spoke to someone who has worked there since '98. He told me that this bike was probably manufactured in '86 and definitely made in Japan. He told me that he's isn't 100% positive on the year but he referred me to this site.

What I would like to know is if there's a way to determine what actual year it was made and does it matter that the bike was actually made in Japan, meaning is it inferior to one that was assembled in the states? I've read the history on Skyway and I know that the tubing was bought from Japan but was welded together in the U.S. Casio Fx Es Plus Emulator Full Download.

I have searched the forums on the site and could not find an answer, maybe I didn't look hard enough but forgive me for being lazy. Thanks to any answers! Made in 82 in Japan. I need one too. Lol take pics Please!

Love anything Skyway! The bike had a lot of surface rust so I got out the old aluminum foil and citric acid. It has red Skyway tuffwheel2s with yellow? GT tires by shinko, they're shot. CW handlebars with Mushroom ODI grips which are a bit worn. It's got Suntour Vx Crank and Shimano pedals.

MX 1000 Diacompe brakes and levers. A red Iniseal seat with a blue seat post clamp by MX. Now the bad, the stem is not cracked but the lower 'bracket' that the handelbar clamps on to is cracked. The stem is made by ACs and they don't make them anymore I am thinking of taking the crank off and give the bike a bath with further cleaning and polishing.

Overall not a bad restore project.
